The award-winning director, actor, set/lighting/costume designer, O.P. Hadlock, will be celebrating his 500th production this coming February with the world premiere of the sci-fi thriller, HOPE.  He will be directing the play at the Tenth Avenue Arts Center Main Stage.  He is also the playwright and set designer for the production which will be produced by the Talent to aMuse Theatre Company.

With production credits in almost every facet of theatre, O.P. Hadlock brings a unique array of experience to this show.  He has worked professionally in San Diego since 1992 (Lamb’s, The Lyceum, Compass Theatre, and the Joan Kroc to name a few).  His resume spans all aspects of theatre: professional, educational, regional, and amateur.  O.P. lists over 50 acting performances in a vast array of roles on stage, in films, and commercials as well as a background in dance both on stage and television.  He has directed 23 productions and written seven plays, 15 screenplays, three novels and two short stories.  Well over 60 productions have had their graphics and publicity designed by O.P.  He also held the position of Business and Promotions Manager for three theatres and an arts festival at C.S.U.F.

O.P. has worked as a Technical Director at a California University (C.S.U.S.B.) and East County Performing Arts Center.  He designed lighting for over 50 shows, scenic design for 40 shows, costumed 6 shows, designed sound for 35 shows, and crewed well over 250 shows.  O.P. co-founded and was technical consultant to The Rainbow Theatricans (a professional children’s theatre company that toured in the mid 1970’s) with Linda Woolverton (Maleficent, The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast).
